Topic Five: Narrative
I've chosen one of Marion Fayolle's comic. In this comic, a girl in a black dress holds a giant lit match and walks up to this man with a candle wick attached to his head. The girl lights the wick on fire, causing the man to melt. She watches him as he pools to the floor then strips and dives into the puddle that was once the man. Due to the obscurity of the comic, it's a bit hard to decipher but in my opinion, I feel as if this comic is about a relationship in which is toxic for the male. I like this comic because of how unusal it is. That for me is what is also best about this work. The fact that one would have to sit before this comic for a while to completely understand the meaning is why it's so intriguing.
